BLISS OCCLUSION

Bliss occlusion is a floating ecosystem that creates inhabitable space within a network of living trees. Bliss occlusion consists of a dome made of living willow, mycelium, split bamboo and locally harvested reeds floating on a platform made of up-cycled rain barrels and pallets. burlap rope hangs from the underside of the hull to provide anchor points for bivalves and macro algae creating a sub-marine ecosystem. The structure will reside in the East River and will motor between protected coves on calm days using a small outboard motor. The interior of the structure will be finished with plaster to create a dry space for camping and relaxation within a network of living roots.
