LIVING HARPS
These branches were harvested from storm damaged weeping willow trees on long island, NY. I built a vase to hold the branches as I worked with them. Nylon strings are strung between the branches attached via eye hooks screwed into the living wood. Contact mics were used to relay the sounds made by the strings to an amplifier concealed in a grassy hill. A looper pedal was connected to a battery powered amp to further augment the experience.
